Great insight, Tom. This was more information than all of the other websites had on their meeting on Monday. Now if we can only figure out exactly what they talked about.
It seems that they are both content on trying to make this fight happen. If what Randy says is true, we should be able to figure out by Oct 10th. They should just announce that the fight has been agreed upon that day and see what the UFC does.
then the courts have to hurry up and decide what the contract states. It can't be that unclear, can it???

I think that they met for a promotional type thing, that is what the Wasserman Media Group does. But I am sure that they are talking about how to work around the UFC and their monopoly.
Great info on the new 5thRound. No other site I went to knew anything more than that they met and had dinner. |

| Randy and Fedor are going to make their own MMA promotion together. How sweet would that be? |

| I'm guessing what they did was meat with the promotion company to see how much they would be able to make on the back end. Fedor is a free agent and couture is almost done with his 30 day grace period to where he could technically re-negotiate his contract with the ufc. This could very well be a play on both their parts to make sure that if they do take kind of a low end deal with the ufc that they will make up the rest in promotion and sponsorship deals. It is a smart play on both their parts to essentially work together and make sure that they both make what they deserve to make and then break records by having the greatest mma fight ever with the greatest mma company ever! Let me know your thoughts on this concept.....I don't think I'm too far off |

Actually, Emelianenko is not a free agent, he is signed with M-1 and Affliction, who allow their fighters to fight in other promotions. Affliction signed their fighters to 3 fight deals, so he has at least 2 more with them. I don't know how many more he has with M-1, but considering his Manger/friend is the M-1 owner, it is probably for a while.
I wonder if they are planning on doing it at the end of the year? Affliction is on the 11th, one day after Randy's one year non compete is up, what if they announced it at Day of Reckoning??? |
