| don't get me wrong, i liked the first event but take a look at the similiarites. They are using randy couture's name, they have jay hieron, ben rothwell, chris horodecki and they fight in a ring... |

| They are running out of fighters it seems. They are just recycling the ones that were on their first one. Even re-using the ones that lost to fight other ones that lost on Banned. What is going to happen when they can't sign bigger names and fighters are forced to pull out due to injury??? |

I wouldn't go as far as saying that they are the IFL. The IFL never had a PPV event. Also, they "sold out" the Pond, and the IFL has never sold anything out.
I do think that Affliction's blueprint is short term. They can't afford to keep paying these guys what they are, and they are going to run out of talent. |

I agree. Especially if they are banking on Tito bringing them long term stability and success. |

| I agree that they are going to run out of fighters soon, especially since the only division they have that is 'stacked' is the h/w division. The best hope they have is Elite XC going tits up and signing Lawler, Diaz etc. |

| Affliction isn't going anywhere. Once they sign tito, he will bring some more Punishment fighters over. Also, wait until GSP hits the market. I don't think that the UFC will pay him, so he will turn to his friends at Affliction. |

| I disagree, GSP won't leave the UFC, ever. Dana won't allow it, he'll pay GSP whatever he wants to be payed to keep him. Tito won't sign for Affliction either because he's a prik, he won't stop asking for money, money, money and even Affliction ain't gonna' shell out Fedor type money for a shit fighter. |

What if GSP asks for Fedor type money? Dana denied him. I don't know if Dana would pay GSP a mill a fight, like Chuck got in the past (with PPV bonuses, etc). GSP certainly can command that kind of money based on his accomplishments, skills and charisma, but Dana has burned many bridges when it comes to contract extensions. |

| Also, forgot to mention that GSP is still pissed that the UFC banned Affliction. That cost GSP over $70,000 in endorsement money from them. |

| I actually noticed, but let it slide. G-Rush, you have posted more than enough solid stuff to mess up every once in a while. Who cares? I think the real story is how Manny's shit talking ass got beat like he stole something |

| That's a good point G-rush, do you think Affliction could have any legitimate opponents for him though? |

They will have one here and there because they allow their fighters to fight in other promotions, and most others, outside of the UFC allow it too. But, in all honesty, the UFC has the best 170ers in the world. Everyone in the top ten except Shields and Condit. So maybe if he wants to fight at 85, there is better talent elsewhere.
It would be tough to see the UFC let him walk over money, especially when he is the best, not close to his prime, and he is too nice not to like. |

GSP and the UFC would be fools to part ways right now. There is no reason. He showed that he can sell out an entire stadium by himself, in less than five minutes no less.
He is a cash cow, charismatic, chicks like him and is an exciting fighter. |
