Dana White: Nate Diaz Will Be Fined or Fired for Homophobic Tweet

When will these guys ever learn? No, not just that state athletic commissions have not approved fighters to use marijuana, but that certain magic words should never be used – particularly in a public forum, specifically if you’re UFC lightweight Nate Diaz (pictured) and have over 176,000 followers on Twitter.

Just two days after Pat Healy revealed he tested positive for marijuana following last month’s submission victory over Jim Miller, which cost “Bam Bam” $130,000 in Fight Night bonuses, Diaz, one of the UFC’s most notorious medical marijuana smokers, came to Healy’s defense.

Diaz was all good until he decided to throw in the homophobic F-word.

“I feel bad for pat Healy that they took a innocent mans money and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest Fag in the world.. #sorryasslittlebitch,” Diaz tweeted Thursday afternoon.

Bryan Caraway was subsequently awarded Healy’s $65,000 Submission of the Night bonus. He’s the F-word Diaz is referring to. The UFC simply kept the $65K Healy was owed for Fight of the Night.

As we all know full well, word travels fast in the Twitterverse. UFC president Dana White professed Diaz will be punished, and possibly banished, for his insensitive post.

“He will be cut or fined for that tweet. [Expletive] ridiculous,” White wrote on the Underground Forum.

Diaz’s comment couldn’t have come at a worse time for the UFC (not that there’s ever a good time…), as the promotion has never been a larger presence in the mainstream courtesy of their broadcast deal with FOX.

In addition, Diaz’s tweet comes on the heels of Matt Mitrione’s non-politically correct statements about transgender fighter Fallon Fox. Mitrione was issued a temporary suspension and docked an undisclosed amount of money by the UFC.
