Ed Soares, Anderson Silva’s manager, recently spoke with MMAWeekly Radio and discussed the possibility of a megafight on New Year’s Eve. “If a Chuck Liddell fight came up, we’d take it,” Soares told the radio show. It was only two days ago that we wrote about a possible showdown between Silva and Chuck Liddell, but now it seems to be picking up some steam.

There’s still the possibility of an injury for either fighter, especially Liddell, who is coming off of a hamstring injury that forced him out of UFC 85.

Silva has to get past a very tough Patrick Cote on October 25th, while Liddell is going to take on a very quick and tricky Rashad Evans on September 6th.

“If the right fight was to come up for the New Year’s fight, maybe we would take it,” Soares continued.

After Georges St-Pierre was ruled out of fighting on the December card, the UFC has been scrambling to add more big fights to the year end card.
