As the rumor mill had suggested for quite some time, a heavyweight shootout between Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (pictured) will headline the UFC’s return to Australia.

The UFC announced the December 7 (live December 6 in North America) scrap Sunday night via Twitter.

Both 265-pounders will be looking to rebound from losses. Hunt was knocked out by former champion Junior dos Santos in May at UFC 160.

“The Super Samoan” has been in and out of the hospital since with a nasty leg infection. Hunt, who owns a modest 9-8 professional record, is one of the game’s more popular fighters.

Silva, meanwhile, was TKO’d by champ Cain Velasquez that same Hunt took center stage. The Brazilian has lost three of his past five contests.

A yet-to-be announced venue in Brisbane will host the festivities.

No other bouts have been reported for the event at this time.
