No More Freebies, UFC 110 is a Pay-Per-View

It looks like the UFC will be putting an end to their free overseas events as it is being reported that UFC 110 in Sydney, Australia will only be available via pay-per-view. Due to the time difference, the show will be jumping off on Sunday, February 21st inside the Acer Arena to accommodate a LIVE broadcast in the U.S. on Saturday.

Occasionally, the UFC offers the international shows for free on Spike TV via same-day tape delay, like they did this past weekend for UFC 105 in Manchester, England. Looks like it’s time to pay the bills because MMAjunkie.com is reporting that we’re gonna have to cough up 45 bones to watch this show.

Although the organization has confirmed the Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell and Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen scraps, they have not “officially” announced that the show will be hosted down under, however it’s all but a done deal.

Sydney is 16 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone, thus 13 hours ahead of Pacific Time in the U.S. That means UFC 110 would have to begin at 2PM local time to make the traditional 10PM ET/7PM PT PPV timeslot that we have grown accustomed.

Here are the fighters rumored to be participating in the card:

James Te Huna vs. Igor Pokrajac
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Ben Rothwell
Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Wanderlei Silva
