Here’s something MMA fans have never head before, and something they have heard plenty of times in the past. UFC light heavyweight C.B. Dollaway (pictured) will be forced to pull out of tonight’s fight against Francimar Barroso at UFC 203 after suffering an injury last night in the hotel elevator.
“UFC announced that CB Dollaway has had to withdraw from his scheduled bout at UFC 203 due to an injury he suffered last night as a result of an elevator accident at a hotel in Cleveland,” the UFC expressed in Saturday’s statement. “UFC officials have been in communication with hotel management, and the hotel is currently evaluating and investigating the issues surrounding the incident.”
No word if Dollaway or Barroso will be paid their show money after both made weight at Friday’s weigh-ins.
While that’s something new, here’s something that’s quite common – anywhere, anyplace any time welterweight Donald Cerrone offered to step in on just 24 hours’ notice after word started circling that Dollaway was injured:

Cerrone, who is coming off last month’s TKO victory over Rick Story, is currently slated to fight former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 205. Or is he? TMZ Sports is reporting Lawler has pulled out of the November 12 shootout, which is likely why Cerrone offered up his services for UFC 203, though the UFC has yet to make an official announcement on Lawler’s status.
UFC 203 will go on with just 10 bouts. This marks the second fight to get pulled from the lineup in a matter of days. Ian McCall was left high and dry Thursday after Ray Borg became ill.
Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio hosts tonight’s festivities.
