After getting bumped from his UFC 101 scrap against Forrest Griffin in favor of Anderson Silva, it was officially confirmed by the UFC today that Thiago Silva will now be taking on Keith Jardine at UFC 102. Although this fight has been Rumored for quite some time, nothing makes it more official than seeing it on a poster.

This light heavyweight fight should be electric as both fighters have never been shy about their love for exchanging leather.

Both Jardine and Silva are coming off losses in their last Octagon appearances, to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida respectively, and will look to rebound as they attempt to work their way back up a very crowded light heavyweight division.

The night’s co-main event will pit Nate Marquardt against the undefeated Demian Maia. Both middleweights are red-hot, particularly Maiawho holds a prefect 10-0 professional record. It is believed that the winner of this scrap will get next shot at Anderson Silva’s UFC title.

The night’s featured bout will have former UFC heavyweight champions Randy Couture and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira slugging it out to determine which legend is closer to title contention than retirement.

Here are the fighters Rumored to be competing inside the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon on August 29th:
