UFC Welterweight Champ Georges St Pierre

Although the official event poster for “UFC 129: St-Pierre vs. Shields” has yet to be released, it hasn’t stopped the powers that be from announcing most of the card’s star-studded roster. Georges St-Pierre puts his welterweight belt on the line against Jake Shields in the show’s featured contest.

GSP was last seen steamrolling Josh Koscheck at UFC 124 in December. The win was his eighth consecutive lopsided victory and fifth straight successful title defense.

The former Strikeforce middleweight champ earned his shot at the brass ring with an uneventful split decision win over Martin Kampmann at UFC 121.

Jose Aldo will also break in his freshly-minted UFC featherweight title against a yet-to-be named opponent. Octagon president Dana White has promised Mark Hominick next dibs if he gets past George Roop this Saturday at “Fight for the Troops 2.”

The April 30th extravaganza takes place inside the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

UFC Fight Club members will have the opportunity to purchase seats for the show on Thursday, February 10th at 10AM ET/7AM PT via UFCFightClub.com.

A special Internet ticket pre-sale will be available to UFC Newsletter subscribers on Friday, February 11th at 10AM ET/7AM PT.

The general public will have access to the remains on Saturday February 12th at 10AM ET/7AM PT.
